Why?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe main problem is the Low Voltage Cutoff - the point of battery discharge where the inverter will shut down to protect the battery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFour Tesla Battery Modules in series are pretty much discharged at 76V, but they are only 50% discharged at 86.4V. And so with almost all inverters on the market you are leaving 30-50% of your battery capacity on the table. That means you have to purchase TWICE the battery capacity that you would need if the inverter simply operated down to the 76V cutoff. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe other issue is that many of these inverters will also charge your batteries from AC - the charger is built in.  That's great, but they are traditionally designed for lead acid batteries.  They may support a bewildering array of Pb chemistry types, but ALL of the charge curves they provide are deadly to Tesla Battery Modules.  We advocate charging with a simple bulk current to 101volts and NO MORE.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have located an excellent quality 15 kilowatt inverter made in China that can do 45KW for 20 seconds. It charges at 110 Amperes from 240Vac. And we have commissioned them to provide a Low Voltage Cutoff of 76Vdc and a charge limit of 101Vdc - ideally tuned for the Tesla Battery Modules. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis inverter has two modes of operation that offer some very interesting flexibility.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAC PRIORITY MODE.  This allows you to pass a grid voltage THROUGH the inverter to your loads and operates primarily on grid power.  It will automatically charge your battery and cycle it every 15 days.  But on loss of grid AC input, it will transfer to battery operation within a few milliseconds.  It is an ideal \"battery backup\" system.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn BATTERY PRIORITY MODE, it does NOT pass through AC but rather generates all output power - up to 50 amps at 240vac continuously, from the battery.  In the event the battery falls below the low voltage cutoff level, it will switch to the AC input and indeed recharge the battery at the same time.  When the voltage reaches the resume level, in this case 94 volts, it will switch back to battery operation.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFinally, it features a generator start output to start a generator if the source is a generator rather than the grid.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBUT WAIT THERE'S MORE.  We have found that this inverter can actually replace the grid waveform to operate grid-tied inverters such as the Solar Edge and the Enphase microinverters.  This is what is used in 97% of the solar installations in the United States.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eNot only that, but any power produced by the solar inverters BEYOND your load needs, instead of going out to the grid goes into the batteries to RECHARGE them.  The problem is having TOO MUCH SOLAR ENERGY (the kind of problem to have) and your batteries reaching fully charged.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWith this 15kW inverter, when used in conjunction with our new ESP32 Battery Module Controller, we can signal the inverter to shift the frequency of the output to 62.5 Hz momentarily.  This causes the grid-tie inverters to shut down completely for five minutes.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn this way, we can control the grid tied inverters to prevent overcharging the batteries.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFinally, this inverter features an optional remote control panel.  We INCLUDE that with every inverter instead of making it an option.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInverter Output Specifications:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eContinuous Output Power: 15,000 Watts \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSurge Rating: 45000 Watts (20 Seconds) \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOutput Waveform: Pure Sine\/Same as input (Bypass Mode) \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e100-110-120Vac \/ 220-230-240Vac\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNominal Efficiency: \u0026gt;88% (Peak) \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eLine Mode Efficiency: \u0026gt;95% \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOutput Frequency:  60Hz +\/- 0.3Hz \/ 62.5Hz \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTypical Transfer Time: 10ms (Max) \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTHD: \u0026lt;
