The UQM Powerphase 100 Traction System.  These were received from the CODA vehicle bankruptcy and are essentially new, but have no warranty and no manufacturer support.

This package offers the advantages of a small package with light weight and high power that are the hallmark of the modern permanent magnet three phase motor.

We have the original CODA Borg Warner EgearDrives for this motor - the lowest gearing Borg Warner offers on this drive at 6.54:1


PLEASE NOTE. This hardware is NOT the same as that shipped by UQM Corporation as new product with full product support and documentation. These are new units originally built FOR CODA AUTOMOTIVE as an OEM customer and contain custom software built for the Coda production vehicle. We have developed software for the GENERALIZED VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT (GEVCU) to safely and fully operate this custom OEM inverter. But it was made specifically for CODA and varies significantly from the normal UQM product offering.
UQM does not and can not support this hardware because it uses the open source GEVCU control unit to drive it and UQM has no detailed information on the GEVCU. Coda is of course bankrupt. The UQM documentation varies dramatically from the operation of this motor and inverter.

 For modern liquid cooled AC motors and inverters, often you will need separate cooling circuits as the inverter and motor operate in different temperature ranges.

It surprises many that you need liquid cooling in an electric car, but modern high powered IGBT power switching circuitry can be smaller, operate better, and last longer if it is liquid cooled.  And getting power out of an electric motor is really about getting the heat out.  And liquid cooling is just many times more effective than air cooling.

But we don't like leaks.  And so at EVTV we use AN fittings and hose ends with nylon braided hose. Properly assembled, these anodized aluminum hose ends will just never let go and they almost never leak.  So we've adopted the hardware used by race and custom car enthusiasts for transmission coolers, for use in our electric cars.  These are the highest quality components avialable.

 Borg Warner 31-03 eGearDrive.

 This single speed transfer case was developed by Borg Warner specifically for electric drive applications.  It has emerged as THE drive train choice for modern electric vehicles. It was used by CODA with the UQM drive train and by Azure Dynamics with their eTransit Connect.  Aptera and the Tesla Roadster also used this gearbox. The 6.54: 1 drive ratio is perfect for single ratio electric vehicle applciations. 

This model features the CANbus controlled electrically activated Park/Neutral/Drive controls.  

Ideally suited for full performance electric vehicles on either front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive transverse driveline applications, the BorgWarner 31-03 eGearDrive(TM) single-speed transmission delivers high torque capacity, high efficiency, and low noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) in a compact package.

 Liftgate Delivery to Residential Address.  For many of our products, weights and volumes are large and it is not possible for a driver to offload these items to a residential address without a specially equipped truck with hydraulic liftgate.  UPS charges us $240 for this option and we make it available to you.

For motors and inverters and batteries of large weight and volume, we must have a commercial delivery address equipped with loading dock or forklift to offload the items.

An an option, we can deliver those items to the nearest terminal but then you must make arrangements to go pick them up with your own truck.

By ordering this "product", commercial liftgate delivery, you can have these large items delivered directly to your doorstep.
