SavvyCAN for Tesla Model S is a Controller Area Network Capture device capable of capturing CAN data directly from the Tesla Model S diagnostics
connector even at the very high data rates found on the Tesla Model S.
The system consists of a data capture and analysis program for your Windows, Linux, or Mac OSX Laptop that connects to the EVTV CANDue CAN device by USB cable.
The CANDue features a wiring harness with the appropriate connector to connect right to the diagnostics connector below the 17 inch display on the center
console of the Tesla Model S.
The system is capable of capturing over a million frames of CAN data at up to 4000 frames per second - this is not a toy OBDII device to get speed, charge state, and
rpm, but a serious reverse engineering tool capable of the high data rates found on the TEsla Model S Powertrain CAN bus (CAN BUS 3).
SavvyCAN features a number of CAN data analysis features, allowing you to create your own .dbc database files, import and export files in several formats, and
analyze CAN data in a number of different ways.
The 84MHz SAM3X multicontroller has adequate horsepower with the included due_can library to process this high flow of CAN messages.
CANDue comes wired for PowerTrain CAN bus 3. But we include extra pins for the dedicated connector allowing you to use the other Body and CHassis CAN busses
available on the diagnostics connector.
SPECIFY WHICH CONNECTOR YOU NEED. THe original diagnostics connector is used on 2012 to early 2015 models. The new style connector is used from mid-2015 models onwards and on all Model X vehicles.
This Generalized Vehicle Reverse Engineering Tool GVRET runs on CANDue to communicate with the SavvyCAN application program for CAN data capture and analysis.
